Special Announcement:

It is with great sadness that we announce that our Staten Island Law Office will be closing on October 31, 2020. We will attempt to complete all legal matters which are still pending and if that is not possible, we will assist our existing clients in transitioning to a new law firm.

Effective as of July 24, 2020 the only new matters which we will accept are the following:

1. Divorce Mediation cases.

2. Pre-Nuptial Agreements.

3. Second Opinion Letters where Mr. Leininger analyzes what your present lawyer has done right on your case and what mistakes your existing lawyer has made on your case - and whther those mistakes can be corrected.

4. Legal Coaching for persons representing themseves pro se (as their own attorney) in Divorce and Custody matters.

If you are an existing client and wish to find out how the upcoming closing of our Staten Island Law Office on October 31 may affect you, please call our Office Manager, Lorraine Schiano, at 718-979-5200.

Our firm also practices Collaborative Divorce for those clients who wish to utilize this dynamic new way of resolving their marital problems!

Our Law Firm concentrates on Family Law Issues, thereby achieving a depth of field and an extensive base of experience. Many of our clients are referred to us by former clients as well as lawyers and mental health professionals, both in New York and New Jersey and elsewhere, who know and trust our work.

Our office represents clients from all over the United States in the New York and New Jersey Courts, and in the Courts of the State of Florida

Low up-front retainers

While many divorce attorneys on Staten Island require an up-front retainer of between $5,000 and $10,000 on all divorce cases, we only require an up-front retainer of just $3,500 on any case that we accept which is not yet in litigation! Yes, even if you and your spouse have a business, or millions of dollars in assets, the initial retainer is only $3,500, provided the case is not yet in litigation! We believe that most cases can be settled quickly and inexpensively by negotiation, rather than litigation! Obviously, if Court litigation is necessary, the initial retainer will be higher. We will give you a definite retainer quote at the initial consultation so there will be no surprises!

A Message to the Client about our Divorce Practice

When you retain us as your attorney, we will discuss the law with you, and how it relates to your situation. We will listen to you and we will develop realistic expectations and a plan of action. We believe that negotiation is frequently the most prompt and efficient means of reaching your goal. However, if settlement is not possible, we will pursue your case aggressively and effectively.
For the duration of our representation, our office will keep you current on the status of your case. We will provide quality and experienced representation from start to finish.
